GEA Refrigeration Technologies & the fish market

Fish consumption is on the up. The sector is characterised by high quality requirements and large capacity. Fish processors are concentrating on limiting cooling and freezing times to a minimum. It should begin immediately after the fish are caught, on board the boat.

Continuity
Our fishery customers do a lot of testing and reporting. That’s how they bring controlled quality back to the land. Our staff know exactly what has to happen between putting out the nets and storing the catch in the hold. That is why Grenco B.V., one of our companies, has developed its own quality monitoring system (QMS), so a quality manager can monitor the entire operation, including pre-cooling to –10C in saltwater, storage in slurry ice, deep-freezing in freezer shelves, or individual quick freezing (IQF) down to –250C.

In order to translate every requirement into a (reasonably priced) solution, we at GEA Refrigeration Technologies opt to work in close collaboration with the customer, so the circle of quality is continuous, from advice, engineering and installation to extended lift spans and replacement via service and maintenance, with an emphasis on economy, energy, safety, continuity, the environment and people.
